Project Objectives
Central Reclamation Phase III is the final phase of reclamation in Central. The project will provide land for essential transport infrastructure and the area will later be developed into a world class waterfront. The project includes the construction of:

18 hectares of reclamation
1 kilometre of wave absorbing seawalls
"Star" ferry and public piers
Cooling water pumping stations for existing private and government buildings; including HSBC building, Pacific Place, Prince's Building, Murray Building, Central Government Offices, Legco and City Hall
1,000 metres of extensions to drainage and sewerage systems
A 1 kilometre dual 3 lane road tunnel forming part of the future Central-Wanchai Bypass
A tunnel extension for MTRCL's Airport Express and Tung Chung lines
A berth for the People's Liberation Army Forces Hong Kong (PLA)
2.5 kilometres of at-grade roads together with an underpass
A 300 metre long footbridge from the General Post Office to the new ferry piers
